win2000 and AHA 2940 UW

Hi,
I had no problem to install Win2000 with Assus Board, Adaptec SCSI Controller and Pentium II.
But now I bought a new motherboard with AMD 800 MHz prozessor and I got an Adaptec 2940 UW Controller from my brother. I flashed the Adaptec BIOS to the newest version and I used the newest w2k driver from the adaptec homepage to install Win 2000. After the first reboot during installation I get blue screen with the error message hardware malfunktion - system holded after about 60 % of the hardware dedection. I have no idea what to do now.

It is confusing to forums to have the same question in two or more postings. Did you want answers here or in the Hardware forum?

I am not sure if my problem is a realy hardware problem or a WIN 2000 driver problem. Therefor I posted it to both.
If it is not allowed to do so I think it will the best to get the answer in the hardware forum.
