Does anyone know of a tool which can be run from the command prompt which gives you a list of all the hardware in the pc

it has to work from the command prompt as we want to whack it in the login script once only

There is a utility called hwinfo that will provide you with all the hardware information. The registered version allows the suppresion of the user screens and dumps the output to a logfile. You may want to check it out at <a target="_blank" href=http://www.hwinfo.com>http://www.hwinfo.com</a>

but it looks like you have to install it, we have to do 1000+ pc's

so we are hoping for a simple exe

but i will have a play with it

32but version has to be installed and the 16 doesn't work under nt or cmd

any other sugs
