Where does Windows XP store the Quick Launch toolbar icon order in the registry? I know the folder

C:\Documents and Settings\UserNameHere\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

has all my icons, but where is the order-they-are-displayed-in stored?

I am not familiar with XP but in Win98 you can just click on an icon and drag it to any position you like.

I didn't have the problem. However the below may be the fix. I already tested on my XP Pro before posting.

Drill down too..

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Streams]

Double click on the Taskbar Binary value. Delete all of the value data.

Do the same for the Toolbars Binary value.

then drill down too..

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\StuckRects2]

Double click on Settings and delete the data.

reboot.

try again.

This fix also got me out of the following W2K situation:

My W2K desktop quick launch and takbar configuration was not being saved on shut down.

Each startup would give the same default quick launch toolbar and a single width taskbar.. all the quick launch icons were present but only a few visible. All icons could be revealed by dragging the taskbar area as usual.

Clearing out the data in these 2 rego keys fixed things back to normal !

Thanks... for the idea...
