Autorun Stopped! (WME)

I few weeks ago my DVD-Rom drive stopped recognizing the autorun feature in Windows Me. Having had this problem on a older computer I went to the control panel and checked to see if the 'auto insert notification' was checked. It was. This confused me. Then I began my search to find another answer. Coming here I found a fix in the registry for my problem. But that didn't work either. So now I have gone to every support site I could find but they all say the same thing, go into your registry and change the 'NoDriveTypeAutoRun' entry or check the 'auto insert notification' option in the control panel. Also, I have tweak ui and when I go to the Paranoia tab and check the two cd rom options that are there, it reversed what I did in the registry. I need help. Does anyone know what's going on?

I tried to find the HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom key but I don't have one. Is that a problem?

i had the same problem on my Win98 a couple of weeks ago...

download TweakUI, i think its on this site sumwhere, and install it. after u've done that u'll have 2 restart. after booting up, go into control panel, and double click TweakUI, then click the Paranoia tab, and make sure Automaticly Play Data CD's is checked. Click ok, and i think u gotta restart

Its not a bad idea 2 keep TweakUi installed, coz its gots heaps of different settings that windoze hides from ya.
