I got this fatal error in Win ME.

Kernel 32
Kernel 32 caused a general protection fault in module user.exe at 0003:00003b9f

*******
*close*
*******
It caused my computer to hang.
Due to this, I had to reboot

I have Pentium 3 933 Mhz i810E Intel chipset based Zida (tomato) Motherboard. I have 128 MB SDRAM

Also, Windows Movie Maker 1.0, ie 6, ad subtarct, zalarm, nav 2002 were open at that time. Did they contribute to the problem?
I have the following queries:

a) I have encountered this kind of problem before also, but in diff. circumstances, mostly while running Internet explorer...

b) Should I be concerned with this problem??
c) Does it deplete the efficiency/performance of my Computer System?
d) Where can I get the complete info/solution/tweaks regarding general protection fault errors in Win ME?

If the issue happens infrequently then do not worry about it. There are so many contributors to this problem that it should be classed as a "feature" that most users will see at least once during the lifetime of their PC.

If it is happening repeatedly then you need to address the root cause of the problem whether it be hardware or software. The attached link provides some information on GPF's.
