I realize that you may not know the answer right away, not being familliar with my system, but if you would, please, flail about in the dark and maybe you'll hit something.
I can write regedit logon scripts that work just fine for my students on the Win2K machines, but just so long as they don't involve one of the "...\policies\..." keys. These keys are fine for someone belonging to the proper groups, such as myself. Now, obviously, I could make my students members of the proper group, but then this brings all kinds of unwanted (by me anyway) permissions with it. What I need to know is what is it about the Student group will not allow these few keys of the registry to be edited when the rest of the registry is OK for editing with the logon script? I have used Poledit to lift the registry edit tools restriction for the students, to no avail. I need to tweak a setting rather than put a whole school of students in a new group.
Suggestions?
Josh
