New Partition (WXP)

I installed a new partition along with a fresh copy of XP, but most of my files on my other partition of XP are locked and i can not use them, How do i get around this?

Are you dual booting Windows 2000 and XP? If so XP must format the partition it is being installed on, in order to correctly apply NTFS permissions for the Xp accounts.
