View Full Version : User's cannot view jpeg's

Under a Windows 2000 OS, only administrators can view jpg's. It gives users and power users a message that it is an unknown file type. I know that there is a security tweak that fixes this, but I cannot find it anywhere. I think there is an area that the user needs permissions granted. Does anyone know about this?

Make sure the

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpeg\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}
and
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.jpg\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}
both have default string values of:
{7376D660-C583-11d0-A3A5-00C04FD706EC}
