Running DNS server on NT 40 server SP5. Because an intranet site, need to use other than default root DNS servers. Setting up the registry AutoCacheUpdate to 0 (MS KB Q195811, Q198410) doesn't help, the root servers are added automatically again when deleted via DNS manager.
This causes long resolution time bacause the right DNS root servers are on the end of list (the resolution starts with incorect entries and after no response it tries next). The problem could be related to SP 5, but I haven't found yet any record related to this.
