System tray

Win95: With the exception of Zone Alarm and the clock, on occasion the other 8 icons vacate the area. Including the mini tv's that are normally shown. When I shut down and reopen they re-appear. Anyone know what is prompting this, and how to correct it? Thanks,

On my Win95/98 machines, this happens whenever I have to use Ctrl+Alt+Del to end a program that has locked up. And as you say, re-booting corrects the problem. Not a problem on Win2000/XP.

It usually happens with me in Win98 after an "Illegal operation" in Explorer. All the apps are still running but whatever happened messed with the tray. It has never hurt anything though, just an annoyance. If you figure out how to restore the tray without a restart, please post it.
