I read this from a site on how to speed up your computer & modem & it said below:
Error Control - Make sure your modem is set to LAPM (V.42) error control rather than MNP which is around 20% slower.
My question it how do you check it or even change the setting I can't find it my modem log in Win98se has these two lines that dont make sense below:
02-03-2002 10:18:59.74 - Error-control off or unknown. 02-03-2002 10:18:59.74 - Data compression off or unknown. In both cases I have error control on & data compression on yet it says that?? can anyone help me please its confusing to me ---Hally--- Win98se 48 meg ram pentium 120mghtz
