Win98 installation

I formated drive C. I tried to reinstall Win98 but the error is that there is something wrong with the registry.

I scan the registry and there was an error. The system recommend I install Win98 onto another drive. But I don't want to do this.

How do I identify the registry error and fix it?

if you formatted the C drive how can there be a registry?

reformat again and run scandisk do a thorough scan to test for disk defects. I'd trust the message. Non windows lovers bash microsoft but it is a damn good operating system. The life expectancy for hard drives are about 4-5 years. May be time to invest in a new one
