Those need to be removed in Regedit:

Go to Start/Run/Regedit, and delete what you wish in the right pane of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\Doc Find Spec MRU

Good luck, Tony

To completely disable creation and display;.. check for these registry key settings.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete]
"Append Completion"="no"
"Use AutoComplete"="no"
"AutoSuggest"="no"

[HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete]
"Append Completion"="no"
"Use AutoComplete"="no"
"AutoSuggest"="no"

dmoschner - have you found an answer to this yet? I have been searching for the same solution. The regedit key recommended does not seem to appear in my windows version "windows ME"...

dmoschner,

right-click on the taskbar, choose properties, click the Start Menu Programs tab and click the Clear button.

Close the Find window out, then open a new one.
