System file checker is a joke to!!

After doing a little playing with System file checker I have found out it is a joke to as well as the scanreg back up....

Inorder to see what is going on you have to view the logs that it creates

I used the .sfc file from my other hard drive to test the second drive with... I saved the old file to put back after playing....

if you check in the what folders to keep track of... you will see the puter does not scan all folders only the folders you tell it to scan.. not all folders will be checked... So tech how would you know if a program file was changed or if you picked up a virus if these other files are not scanned....

So reghakr you are right it is not something to rely on...... it may give you a hint but !!!

also some of the files had the same version but a diff time both drives where setup using the same disks with the same updates.... This was a confused area because the files that it hit up on should have had the same create time... ?????
unless they where created on the fly????

The more I get into how things work I am finding that they don't really work...
