I have been trying to solve this riddle for a while and have been unable to. I have a user with a Palm cradle on her machine, I installed the Palm Desktop and everything worked fine for a couple weeks. Then, for no apparent reason, whenever she tries to Hotsync or open the Palm Desktop, she gets a Dr Watson error. In the event log in lists as Event ID 4097 (which I haven't found out how this error applies on the MSKB or anywhere else for that matter) and an of Error Message: "palm.exe (or hotsync.exe) Exception: Access Violation (0xc0000005).
I have uninstalled/reinstalled the software but with the same result.
At this point I am willing to try any suggestion to get it back to good.

Thanks

I don't have a solution but sometimes asking questions brings something up. Is that a USB connection? Has the latest Service Pack been installed?

I don't have the immediate fix for the error messages either. However, you can disable drwatson from becoming active on login.

It is a Serial Connection and SP 6a. Nothing has changed on the system (i.e. no new hardware or software). If you have any other questions please let me know

Thanks for the link, I can suppress the Dr Watson, unfortunately that doesn't help the app run.

One thing I might try is putting it on a different computer/OS and see if it is still working. And check the pins in the plugs, make sure none are bent, broken, or pushed back into the plug, not making contact.
