Every few days I will be working and I start getting literally 100's of disk write errors. The error message is basically: "Windows was unable to save all the data for the file\device\harddisk volume1\documents and settings\computername\application data\microsoft\office\word.pip. The data has been lost. This problem may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save the file elsewhere." The location and file names change depending upon what application I am currently working in. The account I am using has adnministrator rights and I am not on a network. The disk drives are FAT32 and I have tested them down to a surface level scan with no errors.

I find that most of the time I can run "disk cleanup" and reboot the system and the problem goes away for a few days. I have 29 GB of space available on my C: drive and 10 GB available on my D: drive. The Disk Cleanup utility on;ly finds between 2 and 8 Mb of files to deleate so I believe drive space is not a problem. What can I change or where can I look to solve this problem?

Is your drive larger than 32GB? I haven't run into this myself having only 30GB drives, but I have heard that there is a problem with FAT32 and drives larger that 32GB. Did you try to make a My Documents folder on the smaller drive and save files to there?
