I have been investigiating the use of registry editing to restrict user access to certain Windows functions.
My only issue is, I have over 100 workstations to place these settings on, and I figured, one registry patch (writen by me) would be a lot easier, than regediting all of those PC's.
My only problem is, I have no clue how to create these registry patches.
I need to restrict access to A LOT of things, and I'd rather create the patch myself, rather than download one, so I know exactly what was put into it.
I need it to disable not only desktop property settings, but disallow use of control panel/printer settings, file deletion, renaming, and a few other random things, no printer deleting, etc...
I know you can use a simple text editor to create the patches, then just name them *.reg when you're done, my problem is correct syntax.
Any links to guides, or perhaps true human interaction would be greatly appreciated.
(All the PC's are running Win98, or Win98SE)
Thanks
