When I click on start, shutdown\restart windows does not shut down or restart for me. When i choose this the screen goes dim like its going to shut down, and my hour glass comes on, then the screen will flicker once. It doesnt shut down though. I have to use ctrl, alt delete just to restart the pc then I have to go through scan disk, which is annoying. Can anyone give me suggestions as to how to fix this annoying problem? I would appreciate it.

Tap the Alt_Ctl_Del keys before shutting down nexrt time and see if a progranm is listed as (not responding) in the task List. Post back with the nmae.

im not sure if win95 has a win386.swp file but if it does reboot into a dos screen and delete it, it will be in either the root or the windows directory, then reboot and shut down that should help
