Does anybody know the maximum number of HTTP sessions it is possible to use and is it desirable to do so? Thanks in anticipation.

As in How many Internet Explorer windows can a person have open at one time? I have had 12 simple site pages open at one time, WinXP/IE6. Too many variables, how much RAM, how fast CPU, how much memory on video card, how much graphical content on web page, music on web page, etc.

No, there is a tip in the registry guide http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/536
I was just curious as to the maximum or preferably the optimum value I could use. Thanks for the quick response.

I don't have an answe for you. I was able to use that tweak for creating a windows user id for only downloads. if you do massive amounts of uploading and downloading like I do, you cna create a windows user id, use that tweak, and not have it affect your browsing habits on your regular login. that tweak didnt cause any major problems with general surfing but if you run across a site that wont load, you'll know why.
if you fall off your puter, get rite back on

Basically you are only limited by your hardware and memory. From personal experience I have had tested up 30+ downloading on a PIII 650 with 256mb.

It is breaking the protocol "specification", but it is possible for the site to block multiple downloads if they want -- there are a lot of browser and download utilities that don't follow them at all. This tweak just allows you to configure Internet Explorer to act in the same manner.
