Saving from the Internet? You get the image in whatever format is used by the creator of the Web page and image. You need something like Paint Shop Pro (www.jasc.com) or Adobe PhotoShop to convert the format. Be aware that converting from .jpg to .bmp may not be the way to go. JPGs are compressed differently and I find them to look terrible converting to BMPs. BMPs to JPGs work pretty good. JPGs and GIFs are preferred on the Internet because they are much smaller in file size than anything else, therefore they load faster. A BMP may be 3 to 5MB in size but the resulting JPG will be 300 to 900KB. They will never make do as "Hang on your wall" type pictures, they lose too much resolution.

thanks guys. :-)
i use irfanview faifthly. i love that little program.
you know now that you said that converting jpgs to bmps looses quality - i was thinking it was the other way around. i didnt know that gifs and jpgs were prefered. but i suppose that would make sense. I will try using jpgs instead.

i work quite alot with flash and was always told that bmps were better. but i ran into the problem of file size. which of course makes sense now. i was just curious to see if it could be done within the registry - that when you right click on a pic the 'save as' screen comes up - it offers .bmp instead of .jpeg. it is no biggie. i just having to always change it - then i get pissy when i saved it wrong. (actually i will just chalk it all up to being lazy) the less clicks the better ... hehehe
thanks guys, you all have been a big help.

LMFAO

I love the ad blockers and restricted site zone list
I got to them a different way. They were the same URL .com with a little difference.. I think the reason they kicked me out is I am not signed up at the site with a password. Beside I turned off the adblocker and restricted site list and It still would not let me in and these sites are not on my restricted list that was the first thing I checked.

It has been nice not seeing any ads from x10.com
get your free 30days here too! Found this the other day when I was searching for something else....
