When trying to insert a picture in outlook express I get an error message 195"undefined"is null or not an object. This problem just started as I used to be able to. Any ideas appreciated.(When trying to open the picture outside outlook there is no problem)

Open your OE, click on Tools/Options/Send. Go down to where it says Mail Sending Format. Be sure that HTML is checked. Now click on HTML settings. Be sure the box that says "sends pictures with message" is checked.

we will start here!

Thanks

you can always try to repair IE and OE then if that doesn't work we will yell fire!

go off line and close IE then

go start run type msinfo32 click ok

at the top of the next window go tools -- internet explorer repair tools

select repair and ok

Once again thanks did all of your suggestions and rebooted but still didn't help. The extensions of the pictures are .jpeg and gif which IE opens. And they open when I'm not in Outlook Express. All of this used to work untill I did updates from MSoft.

In OE, click Tools/Options/Security and reset OE to the Internet Zone
and prepare your message and send it. When complete you can reset OE to
operate in the Restricted Zone if desired. No more error 195 messages.
Good luck.

I am running Win98Se with Outlook Express 5.5 after I downloaded service pack 2 for I/E I had the problem as stated above. Now all is good thanks to you fellas help except now for some strange reason my puter will not let me go into standby by pressing the on button anylonger, a dialog box comes up and says a device driver is still running, close all programs and retry. I shut all programs off on the taskbar but still same problem. How does one tell which program is causing the problem? Jeesh... if it's not one thing it's another!

Locojuan,

Thanks for feedback, glad OE is working.
BTW..Maybe you should start a NEW thread with power management problem. Your post will receive much more action with that specific subject line instead of being "tacked on" here.
