Win95 Outlook Express--I attempt to delete unwanted messages and it appears I am successful. When I go online again they have re-appeared. Doesn't happen all the time, but often enough. Help appreciated.
Also if I may, what is Mailnews.cab? It offers an option to extract. I don't even know what they are. There are over 50 icons listed. Thanks,
POBrien

I don't have access to Express at the moment so I can't give you detailed instructions. however, open Express and find the option that will leave a copy of your email on your ISP's email server. If there's a check mark remove it. Also, If you use any other mail programs at other locations or PC's check the setting there as well. If the option is not checked, contact your ISP and inform them that you are receiving duplicate emails. I work for an ISP. In the past when we were first pushing DSL, our customers were receiving dup emails. The mail admin will need to resolve it.
For the mailnews.cab file. I can't give you any feedback at the moment. anyone else?

I set up the pop mail property (leave on server till deleted) is checked
when you delete the mail from the inbox it goes to the delete box
then all you have to do is empty the delete box
the next time you read the mail it will be gone
you may have to clean you server out to get rid of the unsync stuff then this will work
also if you use two diff programs to read mail it may get out of sync and leave mail on the server
I find this happens cause I use both outlook express and microsoft Outlook to read my yahoo mail. I have learned to just read the mail before I close the mail program so it will stay in sync
hotmail automaticaly sync when you move mail around.....
at the top of OE click on tools-- accounts
click on mail tab
highlight (click onces) the mail server you want to change
click on properties
click on advanced
check both leave copy on mail sever and remove from server when deleted from deleted items
Thanks
Mac!!!
This Is just my opinion
So if it stinks wait for another one
Cause I'm no expert

The mailnews.cab file is just from a IE5 or higher installation. All cab files have the option to extract. They are similar to .zip files.
It's best to leave it alone.
