Is that affected by the AutoComplete settings in Tools, Internet Options, Advanced?

It is. It also has to be enabled in Internet Options/Content/Autocomplete.
And then it's also dependent on what's in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\UrlTemplate
Good luck, Tony

Dear Sir,
So, how do i go about it???
What steps should i take to rectify it?
I hv checked the registry URL given by u and found something like:
www.%s.com
www.%s.edu
www.%s.net
www.%s.org
should this be the right entries to be made in my friend's computer????
And what about the AutoComplete Feature???
Should the following be checked:
"Use inline AutoComplete for web addresses"
Best Regards,

The entries there are alright.
You just need to make sure that both 'Autocomplete web addresses' is checked in Internet Options/Content/Autocomplete, and 'use inline autocomplete for web addresses' in Internet Options/Advanced/Autocomplete as well.
Good luck, Tony

Inline autocomplete for web addresses is a different function. Inline autocomplete for web addresses regards typing an address and having IE finish it. For instance, you start typing M
and all the addresses you have previously typed starting with M appear and the "matching" is placed in the address bar. I find this to be an extremely annoying feature. It's also available for Windows Explorer.

I guess you're right.
When you think about it, it probably would be rather illogical, if you could enable or disable this feature in two different places...
So it's just Content/autocomplete, then?
