Dear Sirs,
I am not able to preview any files (graphic or any other files/folders). I hv checked the view as web page in My Computer > View Menu > View As Web Page. I might hv deleted the particular extensions in the File Types sections found in My Computer > View Menu > Folder Options > File Types tab.
Please help as i am not able to preview any gif, jpg, jpeg or html files.
Best Regards,

Hi,
Try running <a target="_blank" href=http://www.aumha.org/downloads/thumnail.reg>Thumbnail.reg</a>.
This is the general fix to restore Windows Explorer’s thumbnail preview capability for a dozen different image types.
As for html preview, here's what it should look like
Take a look whether there's something different in yours:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.html]
@="htmlfile"
"Content Type"="text/html"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.html\ShellEx]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.html\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}]
@="{EAB841A0-9550-11cf-8C16-00805F1408F3}"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm]
@="htmlfile"
"Content Type"="text/html"
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm\ShellEx]
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.htm\ShellEx\{BB2E617C-0920-11d1-9A0B-00C04FC2D6C1}]
@="{EAB841A0-9550-11cf-8C16-00805F1408F3
Good luck, Tony

Tony's answer should work well.
As an alternative, go to Stat>Run, and type:
regsvr32.exe thumbvw.dll.

Dear Sirs,
I tried both the solutions given by you all, it seemed to work with the jpeg, gif files and html files, but for htm files, i was not able to preview these.
Only, when i restored the registry, was i able to rectify the problem.
Kindly enlighten what would hv happened.
Also if a particular file e.g. *.swf (a Flash file) does not open, and i press the SHIFT Key and select "Open with" "Flash" from the list shown (I hv Flash installed), the *.swf movie file opens but its formatting goes aways. i.e. Now whenever i open the file, it opens in the Flash program and then i hv to test the movie or scene, but it plays on and on. the links on it donot work. Why?
This happened only when i selected the option "Always use this option to open this type of file". Now the file has the Flash icon showing in Wndows Explorer.
Is it not possible to restore the file to it's original condition, when the links on it used to work???
I know i hv written this in a hurry. Please inform me if i am unclear.
Best Regards,

This is more of a guess on my part, but open Windows Explorer, go to View>FolderOptions, click the File Types tab, scroll to HTML Document, click the edit button, make sure it says:
text/html under Content Type (MIME)
and:
.htm under Default extension for Content Type.
Regarding the Flash entry...Do you have the whole retail version of flash 4.0 or 5.0 or do you just have the plugin?
You can download a graphic program with a free standalone Flash Player. Here's a link:
