After so long, and not so long on the net, browsing comes to a halt. In previous discussions some have blamed memory. (48meg ram currently , Win 95 , 5 yr.old system ) Using Netscape Communicator.....what cache settings are best to use? Should I limit the number of browser windows I open at one time? Also , something my ISP tech guy said to me during a talk about disconnects (earlier problem) reminded me that I had been using a DUN or data packet tweaker. The man mentioned perhaps my modem was attempting to re-negotiate a new connection periodically? What's the final (if any) word on these programs that change the
MTU size data packets , and other settings affecting internet usage? Need to point out that often websurfing can easily be renewed by disconnecting and logging back online again.
