To configure the Filtering settings for Firewall Plus, click on Settings in the left navigation menu and click on the Filtering tab.
Enable Firewall: You can activate or deactivate Firewall Plus from here. You may also do this from the main status screen.
Application filtering Enabled: Application filtering is used to define which applications are to be allowed or blocked. Having this enabled will allow you to set filtering rules for applications. See Applications Filtering.
Enable enhanced security verification : When enabled, whenever Firewall Plus detects an activity that could be used by a malicious application, it will do the following:
Check if the application is on a known whitelist of applications.
Check if the application has a pre-defined set of rules and act accordingly.
If the application is unrecognized with no set of pre-defined rules, Firewall Plus will prompt you for an action.
Packet Filtering Enabled :Having this enabled allows you to configurePacket filtering which is used to allow or block specific network communications. See Advanced Rules.
