To access the Applications filtering screen, click on Applications in the left navigation menu. This screen allows you to define the permissions for applications installed on your computer when connecting to the internet or a network.

Adding and deleting applications

NOTE: When you allow or block an application through Firewall Plus' pop-up notification, it is automatically added to the Applications list. You may also add an application manually through the applications screen.

1. Click the Add icon at the bottom of the page. Browse and select the application you wish to add and click Open. This will add the application to the list.
2. Select the application and click Delete icon at the bottom of the page.

Assigning permissions

Select an application in the list.

In the right-hand panel, click on:

• Full access : to grant the application full permission for both connecting and listening events
• Block access : to deny the application from connecting/listening.

To assign permissions for connecting and listening events individually:

Click the expand icon beside "Connecting Allowed" or "Listening Allowed". Select the required permission from the list shown.

• Allow connect
• Block connect
• Prompt for permissions (will display pop-up notification that will let you choose whether you want to allow or block the connection)

Additional Permissions

Double-click on an application in the applications list to view advanced application specific custom settings.

• Access through child process : Allow, block or prompt access through child process (Normal and Expert User modes).
• Modify system and Applications : Allow, block or prompt modification  to system and applications (Normal and Expert User modes).
• Modify other applications : Allow, block or prompt to modify binary of any other application (Expert User mode only).
• Control other Applications : Allow, block or prmpt to send control commands to another application (Expert User mode only).
• Modify and control System : Allow, block or prompt to modify system behaviour (Expert User mode only).
• DNS Resolve: Allow, block or prompt to use Microsoft DNS Resolving mechanism (Expert User mode only).

Expert User - advanced rules

In the "Expert User" mode, double-click on an application in the application list to view the advanced rules allowing further customization for applications.
