To configure the Filtering settings for Firewall Plus, click on Settings in the left navigation menu and click on the Filtering tab.
Enable Firewall: You can activate or deactivate Firewall Plus from here. You may also do this from the main status screen.
Application filtering Enables: Application filtering is used to define which applications are to be allowed or blocked. Having this enabled will allow you to set filtering rules for applications. See Applications Filtering.
Generate Application rules automatically : When this is enabled, when an application is allowed to perform an action, Firewall Plus will automatically generate the corresponding protocol rules to allow this activity. When the connection is closed, Firewall Plus will automatically remove the rule.
Enable protection against code injection: Having this enabled will automatically prevent any code injection.
Packet Filtering Enabled :Having this enabled allows you to configurePacket filtering which is used to allow or block specific network communications. See Advanced Rules.
Enable Stealth Mode :When enabled, your system will appear invisible to other computers in the network. When in Stealth Mode, your computer is able to make connections to other computers in the network, but Firewall Plus will prevent other computers from connecting with yours.
Enable Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) : Having this enabled will ensure thatunless the connection has been validated (protocol handshake is successful), no unauthorized packets are received by your computer.
