Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus picks up second consecutive PC Magazine “Editors Choice” award

San Francisco, 28 July 2008: Leading security software vendor PC Tools has won PC Magazine’s “Editor’s Choice” award for Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus 6. This latest review continues PC Tools’ reputation as one of PC Magazine’s best ranking Spyware providers, with Spyware Doctor, version 5.5, previously holding the Editor’s Choice award.

According to PC Magazine reviewer Neil J. Rubenking, the ability of Spyware Doctor with Antivirus 6 to remove malware and keep systems clean is “better than ever”. Rubenking said that the anti-spyware product’s ability to remove malware goes “well beyond” the minimum requirements of detection and removal and that its score of 9.8 out of 10 was “significantly better” than those of competitor products.

Awarding the product a prestigious 4.5 stars, Rubenking said that Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus 6 “cleaned up infested test systems better than any product I've tested....”. Rubenking also said that the integration of PC Tools’ ThreatFire™ technology in the form of an add-on called Behavior Guard significantly increased the protection provided by Spyware Doctor with AntiVirus.

“With help from its new Behavior Guard, it detected every malware and keylogger sample that tried to infest my clean test system and prevented every single one from running” said Rubenking.
