The Startup Settings category allows you to customize the behavior of PC Tools AntiVirus at Windows Startup. When Windows starts up, PC Tools AntiVirus can be set to begin monitoring for virus and other related malware activities or instead, perform a Full Scan.
To set PC Tools AntiVirus to run at Windows Startup, select the Run at Windows Startup check box. If this option is selected, please choose between the following options:
Monitor in background (recommended) - PC Tools AntiVirus starts when Windows starts up. Note: OnGuard must also be activated for PC Tools AntiVirus to provide real-time protection against viruses and related malware threats.
Perform Full Scan - PC Tools starts and conducts a Full Scan when Windows starts up. When this option is selected, the following related options become available:
Exit after scan is over (if no infections were found) - when this option is selected, if no infections are found during the Windows Startup File Scan, PC Tools AntiVirus automatically closes at the end of the Full Scan. This also includes interrupted File Scans.
Pop up a window with scan results when infections are found - when this option is selected, the Scan Results list will be displayed if infections are found.
