To start PC Tools AntiVirus, double-click its icon on your desktop or single-click its icon in your Quick Launch bar. Note: these icons will not appear if they were not selected during installation.
If these icons are not available, you can open PC Tools AntiVirus from the Start menu by clicking Start -> All Programs / Programs -> PC Tools AntiVirus (folder) -> PC Tools AntiVirus.
When PC Tools AntiVirus is launched, the Main Status screen is displayed.
Note: While your PC Tools AntiVirus subscription or trial period is active, a check for Smart Updates is performed automatically whenever the application is launched.
The buttons on the left have the following actions:
Status - Opens the Main Status screen where you can initiate a system scan, activate or deactivate OnGuard (real-time) protection, access the application settings, as well as view the Quarantined and Infected Items Lists.
Scan - Opens the System Scan screen where you can commence a full or customized File Scan of your computer.
OnGuard - Opens the OnGuard screen where you can view the current status and behavior of File Guard's real-time protection tool and access its settings.
Settings - Opens the Settings screen where you can access PC Tools AntiVirus' General, Log, Startup, Scheduler, Scan and OnGuard settings.
About - Displays the About screen, which indicates the product version and your registration status. Note: Prior to registration, this button displays Purchase, which opens the Registration screen when clicked.
