When a full or custom file scan finds an infected file, PC Tools AntiVirus first attempts to disinfect it by removing the offensive code. If the file cannot be disinfected, depending on your scan settings, the infected file is either quarantined, removed, or you are prompted to select one of these actions.

• Quarantine - This places the suspicious or infected file into quarantine (a contained area) from where it can be recovered at a later time through the Quarantined Items List.

• Remove - This deletes the suspicious or infected file from the computer. Note: Deleted files cannot be recovered.

• Ignore -  Will ignore the item.

• Prompt Me - Will alert you to choose remove, quarantine or ignore the item.

Selecting the Don't prompt me again during this session check box before clicking  Quarantine, Remove or Ignore performs the selected action on any subsequent detections for the remainder of the current scan.

Note: If you do not click either  Quarantine, Remove or Ignore on a given prompt within 20 seconds, the detected file is automatically quarantined.
