Using IntelliGuard real-time protection
PC Tools AntiVirus' IntelliGuard feature offers real-time protection to your system via:
File Guard: Continuous monitoring of files whenever they are accessed
Email Guard: Continuous monitoring of incoming and outgoing email. Email Guard is an add-on and can be downloaded here:http://www.pctools.com/mirror/avegaddon.exe
NOTE: While the IntelliGuard feature is turned on, PC Tools AntiVirus will continue to monitor your system even if the PC Tools AntiVirus client is closed. While IntelliGuard is turned on, the standalone service will automatically detect and quarantine infected or suspicious items.
To turn IntelliGuard protection on:
Go to the Main Status screen. If IntelliGuard is not activated, it will be set to OFF. Click this link to turn IntelliGuard ON. This will now change to ON.
Once you have activated IntelliGuard, you can go to the IntelliGuard screen by clicking on its link in the left navigation menu to configure your File Guard and Email Guard settings.
When you do not have all three features activated, the Main Status Screen will display your IntelliGuard protection as LIMITED.
To turn IntelliGuard protection off:
Go to the Main Status screen. If IntelliGuard is activated, it will be set to ON (all features activated) or LIMITED (limited features activated) . Click this link to turn IntelliGuard off. A dialog box will prompt to you to select the duration for which you want to deactivate IntelliGuard. Select a time period and click OK.
Note: You may also activate or deactivate from the IntelliGuard screen by clicking on IntelliGuard in the left navigation menu and checking or unchecking the Activate IntelliGuard checkbox.
