The File Guard feature continuously monitors files whenever they are accessed to protect your system from becoming infected with a virus or item of related malware. This includes situations when files are copied, moved, extracted, opened or run on your system. File Guard will also continue to detect files even if the client is closed, so long it has been turned to ON.

When IntelliGuard detects that a file being accessed is infected or suspicious, it will do one of three things depending on your File Guard settings:

• Quarantine the file - this will quarantine the file to a restricted area. You have the option to view the list of quarantined files and restore any if desired. Restoring will include the files in any subsequent scan.

• Remove the file - this will automatically remove an infected file

• Ignore -  Will ignore the item.

• Prompt Me - Will alert you to choose remove, quarantine or ignore the item.
